Dyne Kairei (海嶺　打陰 Kairei Dain) is the Stage 6 Boss of SeitenTouji 1 - Adamantine Memory Blade. A new arrival to Daiten Daichi, he found a power he was unable to control.

General Information

Personality

Dyne is a calm and collected individual who, as a loner and introvert, doesn't really interact much with others. He tends to do his own thing, though there are times when he breaks that shell.

It's rumored that he can't smile very easily - Ryusuke probably knows the truth though.

Abilities

Dyne is an excellent close-combat fighter, though his abilities in Daiten Daichi also involve the usage of shadows to create semimaterial energy-based weaponry that deals physical damage.

Dyne fights by creating Pulseshards - pulsating ever-morphing 3D objects created from danmaku. He also has a slight water theme, though it's not particularly apparent.

Occupation

As of the ending of Adamantine Memory Blade, he is repenting for what he has done, traveling around Daiten Daichi separately from Teiki and Ryusuke.

Dyne is working with Taro to build a communication link across Daiten Daichi.

Backstory

Dyne was a martial artist in training back when he was alive. Skilled and powerful, he rose through the ranks and by the time he was leaving high school, was well-respected. However, he had a concussion when an angry parent punched him down a staircase. He was reincarnated into Daiten Daichi, where, after taking on a junior, he was gifted a strange but elegant sword...

Origin

As the last character in Adamantine Memory Blade to be given a name (name given and bio written on June 21, 2015), Dyne has the recognition of being the most procrastinated-on character in the game. His original martial artist background was determined about a month earlier, as were initial design elements.

Name

Literally meaning "Striking Shade Ridge", Dyne's name was made by selecting a letter that hadn't been used as the first letter of someone's name (D), and then using Google Translate to generate a name based on the initial personality and design elements for the character.

Design

Dyne is a tall and muscular man, though this is partially obscured by his clothing, which has changed since his days as a living human. He has brown hair and eyes and has a hard time smiling.

Ryusuke Koudan

As Ryusuke's former 'boss' and mentor of sorts, Dyne provided Ryusuke with a purpose for living and effectively halted Ryusuke's fall to a Lost Soul. Dyne sees Ryusuke as an associate or subservient colleague more than a friend or servant, but goes along with Ryusuke's need for acknowledgement.
