Raiden (ライデン Raiden) is the Stage 3 Midboss of Adamantine Memory Blade.

Personality

Raiden is the overly cautious type, preparing things in advance and always ready to deal with problems. He does his job, and he does it well. He's also a big-brother type figure who ends up being the target of Maryuu's affection.

Abilities

Raiden is able to create insulating barriers.

Raiden attacks by creating barriers to guard himself while attacking. He is immune to bombs but if his barriers are penetrated, he will take damage.

Occupation

As of the ending of Adamantine Memory Blade, he is still guarding the factory as Taiga's subordinate.

Backstory

Raiden was originally an engineer in the military, who died in a particularly gruesome fashion. Upon reincarnation in Daiten Daichi, he was given a corporeal form at the Factory. Since then, he has formed a strange relationship with Taiga.

Origin

Raiden was originally a generic robot midboss until given a name and ability. Design details and plot relevance were fleshed out on May 29, 2015. More details were added over the course of development, as was the decision to have him be more significant to the backstory of the world.

Name

His chosen name, Raiden, refers to electricity. His original name, determined on May 2, 2017 using Google, is Rainer Lehmann, but he decided to not go with that in Daiten Daichi.

Design

Raiden uses a robotic android body, which has been altered to better reflect his actual body before death. He wears the standard uniform of the Factory. He has short orangish hair and brown eyes, and is notable for being quite tall.

Raiden is the Stage 3 Midboss of Adamantine Memory Blade. He tries to prevent Teiki from advancing further into the factory but is subsequently trampled upon and beaten up. May it go down as the Dismemberment Ceremony of Great Big Bro Raiden for all eternity. Thanks, Maryuu!

Relationships

Taiga Yoryou

Raiden has an interesting relationship with Taiga in that he is technically Taiga's subordinate but ends up doing Taiga's job because Taiga is often too lazy to do it himself. However, he doesn't mind, and the two share a relationship best explained as a very unromantic shonen-ai.

Maryuu

As Maryuu's 'big brother', he spoils Maryuu and also teaches him many things about life. Such as how not to injure oneself, for example. Or how to not short circuit your body. Or how not to piss off one's neighbors. The two get along well though.
